Your waist measurement should be where you want to wear your skirt. When purchasing a drawstring waist remember that your skirt has to go over your hips or bust. I use waist/hip as the drawstring open measurement. I love pockets so you will find many of my skirts have pockets. The seams are finished with a serger to last you many moons.
